A Moment of Calm in the Middle of It All

Even on the busiest days, you can return to yourself

The other night, I was finally in bed. The day was done. The house was quiet. I picked up my phone for a quick check… just to see if there were any messages. But instead, I saw it. Another email notification. Late. At night. And instantly, I could feel it— my mind waking back up, my body tightening, already thinking about what it meant, what I needed to do, what tomorrow would hold. So I did what I’ve done so many times before… I started talking about it. (Okay… complaining a little 😅) “Why are people sending emails this late?” “It can wait until tomorrow…” And my husband, calmly, said: “You know you can turn those notifications off.” And honestly… I didn’t love that he was right. Because in that moment, I didn’t want a solution. I wanted to stay in it. To carry it. To push through like I always do. So I let myself have my minute. And then… I paused. I turned off my email notifications, put my phone down, and took a breath. And just like that— it felt like something lifted. The Moment I Let It Wait
